Useful Information
To make our translators’ job easier and to guarantee you
a faster, more consistent service, we store a certain amount of
information about your translation projects.
Terminology Management
- Glossaries: created manually using
your company’s documentation, they are updated
whenever you send us a new project.
- Translation memories: created automatically
starting with the 1st translation project that you send us, and updated
whenever you send us another project.
Our translation memories also benefit from an alignment
feature, which is particularly useful if you are a new
client:
- You give us your past translations and the corresponding original documents
(source and target documents)
- We align them: we match up the segments (sentences, paragraphs, terms
etc.) in the translated files with those in the original files
- We feed the results of the aligned files into the new translation memory
The Benefits:
- Use of existing terminology which has already been approved (quality
benefit)
- Recovery and use of part of the work that has already been completed
(financial benefit)
- Style guide: some companies have a style guide to guarantee
consistent communication. It is crucial that we make
this available to our team.
We can create a style guide for your company ourselves if required. Please
don’t hesitate to contact
us to discuss terminology management.
Choose The Right Translator
As well as the work carried out in advance by the Resource
Matching Tool, the choice of translator who’s right for you takes
into consideration:
- Your preferences: the style and terms used in your business communication,
as the translators have already worked for you, comments made during our
meetings etc.
- Your documents: the types of documents that you usually send out (brochures,
press releases etc.), file formats etc.
Your Contact Information
We do everything we can to keep contact preferences and information up
to date. Our aim is to know straightaway who to send translations
to, and how etc.
